Hi; do not worry about the English. The Sun (and the entire solar system, meaning the Sun and planets and our comets and everything in the solar system) orbit around the galactic center, about once every 250 million years. We are located about 25,000 light years from the galactic center. All of those distances and times are large, but so is our speed through space - about 200km each second. (these distances and times makes my brain hurt, which is why I study the Sun - a fairly small object compared to galaxies). -KD
