    How do we know how does the surface of the sun looks like if we never been to the surface of the sun because is really hot?

    Hi

    We know what the surface of the Sun looks like because we have many telescopes..both on the ground and in space... that take pictures and movies of the Sun. We can tell the temperature of the surface from the COLOR of the light that is emitted from the surface. Our Sun looks yellow. Other, hotter stars are bluer and cooler stars are redder.

    Hi, In addition, the Sun also has many different 'faces' in different temperatures, if you have seen some solar images with different colors and ever wondered why they looked so different. Yan
