Hi,
Some of you have probably been to a movie theater recently to watch a 3D movie like "Avatar" or "How to Train Your Dragon." One of the other benefits of the STEREO mission is that we can now make 3D movies and images of the Sun, just like the 3D movies we see at the theater. The key to making a 3D movie or image is that you need 2 cameras, spaced a certain distance apart, to take photos or film the same scene at the same time. The STEREO mission consists of 2 spacecraft that can take images of our Sun simultaneously in order to create a 3D view. And of course, then you get to wear those really cool glasses! You can learn how to make your own 3D images here - http://stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov/classroom/3d.shtml
