Hi Jalen! It is indeed very difficult to send the spacecraft close to the Sun due to extreme heat. NASA is planning a future mission Solar Probe Plus that will fly less than ten solar radii from the surface of the Sun, much closer than any other spacecraft have been so far. The spacecraft has to be designed with special solar shields to withstand the several thousands Fahrenheit at its closest approach.
